Description

Here is another more obscure object. With so many fine emission nebulae in Cygnus, it’s easy to overlook the small reflection nebula, IC5076. Don’t feel bad, the Herschels missed it too, hence its lack of an NGC catalog entry. It was first picked up early in the photographic era (1895) by Isaac Roberts, who interestingly invented the concept of using a guide camera. (If only he could see how that’s advanced now!)
